The Olympic Park, London

The (now named) Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park was built in Stratford City for the 2012 Summer Olympics and Paralympics. It contained the athletes village, several of the sporting venues and the Olympic Media Centre, as well as the ArchelorMittal Orbet observation tower. My project was inspired mainly by my Uncle’s job within the Olympics, but also because i knew it would be a moment in history that I would never experience in my home country again. My project took me on an inspiring journey to explore the park as it was being built, to see the transformation between a building site and a venue, and to see the contrast between the growing industry of Stratford against its neighbouring Hackney Wick.
