On January 12th 2015, I visited my Grandma’s home in Cleethorpes to photograph and reflect on my Grandma’s life. The images were taken over the course of one afternoon and one morning whilst I was recovering from an operation and ultimately reflect the sensitivity I had whilst documenting the house, as well as becoming a metaphor for how time catches up with us so soon.
The images were taken before the house was completely emptied of belongings and echo the memories I had growing up and visiting this place, whilst also conveying the loss I’ve felt as my Grandma’s belongings are slowly moved out.
Furthermore I feel the project touches upon the amount of items and photographs we gain throughout our lives. These things become a part of us and the stories we leave behind and reflect the long fulfilled life and love my Grandma always had.
